Big Tech Layoffs Helping Startups Land Top Talent

Mark Sasson sits down with Business Insider to discuss startups amid the largest layoffs in Big Tech history. Startups are having unprecedented success hiring top talent. But founders are still skeptical about hiring Big Tech employees.

Startups tend to have more spartan compensation packages compared with Big Tech companies that offer laundry services, gyms, and elaborate meal plans, he added.
In niche industries like cybersecurity, some founders said hiring employees from other startups was still more favorable because of the exposure to how the business models work.

An engineer at a bigger tech company may be siloed in a single project, but a startup engineer will juggle many, Mark Sasson, the founder and managing partner of the cybersecurity-recruitment firm Pinpoint Search Group, said.
