Effective date: July 31, 2026 Last updated: July 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pinpoint Executive Consulting, LLC ("Pinpoint Search Group," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you interact with us, including through:
Together we refer to these as the "Sites" or the "Services." By using the Services you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
Pinpoint Search Group is a cybersecurity executive-recruitment firm that also offers a paid subscription to a cybersecurity funding and mergers-and-acquisitions dataset. We serve visitors and customers primarily in the United States, and also in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Israel. Region-specific rights are described in Sections 10–13 below.
We collect the information you give us (like your name, email, and account details) and some information collected automatically (like your IP address and pages you view).
We use advertising cookies from a third-party advertising partner on both Sites. They set cookies and share data about your visit with that partner to measure our ads and build advertising audiences so we can show you ads elsewhere. See Section 6 for how to opt out.
We use Stripe to process payments, ActiveCampaign to send email, and Render to host our Sites.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, sharing data with our advertising partner for advertising counts as a "sale" or "share" under California and several other US state laws, and you can opt out — see Section 10. We honor browser-based opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the use of your data. See Sections 10–13.
Questions: contact@pinpointsearchgroup.com.
Account information (data subscription app): your name, email address, a password (which we store only in hashed form — we never see or store your plain-text password), and your subscription tier.
Payment information: when you purchase a paid subscription, you provide card and billing details directly to Stripe, our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number. We may receive limited details from Stripe such as a confirmation of payment, the last four digits of your card, billing country, and subscription status.
Communications: if you email us, sign up for updates, or fill out a contact or subscription form, we receive the information you include (such as your email address and any message content).
When you visit either Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
Some of this automatically-collected data — including your IP address and online identifiers — is treated as personal information under the laws described in Sections 10–13 (this is now explicit under, for example, California law and Israel's Protection of Privacy Law as amended).
We do not intentionally collect special category / sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or precise geolocation data), and we ask that you not submit it to us.
We use personal information to:
Send transactional and service messages (for example, welcome, account, and report-availability emails via ActiveCampaign);
Send marketing and newsletter emails where permitted (you can unsubscribe at any time);
Where UK or EU data-protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
Consent — for non-essential cookies and advertising technologies and for marketing emails where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Legitimate interests — to secure, operate, analyze, and improve our Services and to conduct direct marketing in a manner consistent with your rights, where such interests are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights.
Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law, including tax and accounting requirements.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below.
Service providers / processors:
| Provider | Purpose | What is shared |
|---|---|---|
| Third-party advertising partner | Website analytics and building advertising/retargeting audiences | IP address, device/browser data, pages viewed, timestamps, cookie identifiers |
| Stripe | Payment processing for paid subscriptions | Name, email, and payment/billing details you enter; card data goes directly to Stripe |
| ActiveCampaign | Email marketing and transactional/newsletter email delivery | Email address and name of subscribers and signups |
| Render | Website and application hosting | Technical/server-log data (including IP address) generated by using the Sites |
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and, where required, a data-processing agreement.
Other sharing:
Legal and safety: we may disclose information to comply with law, legal process, or lawful government requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pinpoint Search Group, our users, or others.
Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not share your account information with the companies profiled in our funding dataset.
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Sites, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, analyze traffic, and support advertising.
Categories:
Strictly necessary — required to run the Sites and keep you logged in to the subscription app. These do not require consent.
Analytics — help us understand how the Sites are used.
Analytics and advertising cookies are non-essential. Where the law requires consent before setting them (for example in the UK and EU — see Section 11), they are not set until you have given that consent, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through our cookie controls or your browser.
Both pinpointsearchgroup.com and data.pinpointsearchgroup.com use advertising cookies from a third-party advertising partner. These cookies place identifiers in your browser and send information about your visit — including your IP address, device and browser characteristics, the pages you view, and timestamps — to that partner. We use them to:
How to opt out of advertising cookies and targeted advertising:
Our cookie controls: where a cookie banner or preference control is available on our Sites, you can decline or withdraw consent to advertising cookies there.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): if your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the "sale"/"sharing" of your personal information (see Section 10).
Browser controls: you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Sites work.
Industry opt-outs: you can use tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (https://optout.aboutads.info) and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (https://www.youronlinechoices.eu).
For visitors in the UK/EU, non-essential advertising and analytics cookies are only set after you consent — see Section 11. For California and other US state residents, this activity is a "sale"/"share" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you can opt out — see Section 10.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
Account data: for as long as your account is active and for up to 24 months after it is closed, then deleted or anonymized.
Payment records: for up to 7 years, as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, retained by Stripe and/or us as required by law.
Email marketing data: until you unsubscribe or request deletion, plus retention of a minimal suppression-list record so we can continue to honor your opt-out.
Server logs: up to 90 days.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashing of stored passwords, use of reputable service providers (Stripe, Render, ActiveCampaign), and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant regulators as required by applicable law.
The Services are intended for business and professional use and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at the address in Section 17 and we will delete it.
As of 2026, roughly twenty US states have comprehensive consumer privacy laws, including California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and others. Your specific rights depend on your state of residence, but the protections below apply to residents of states that grant them.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of third-party advertising cookies to build advertising audiences is considered "selling" or "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) and comparable laws in other states. You have the right to opt out of this. To opt out, you can:
enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser or via a browser extension — we treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out of the sale/sharing of personal information, as required by California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and other states that recognize universal opt-out mechanisms;
follow the advertising-cookie opt-out steps in Section 6.1; or
Subject to verification and applicable law, you have the right to:
To exercise these rights, contact us using Section 17. We will not require you to create an account to submit an opt-out request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request to know, delete, or correct. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits. If we decline a request, you may have the right to appeal; contact us and we will explain how.
If you are in the UK or EU:
Cookie consent (PECR / ePrivacy): we place non-essential advertising and analytics cookies only after you have given consent (for example, through a cookie banner), and such cookies and scripts do not run until you have consented. Consent must be a clear, affirmative action; you can withdraw it at any time through our cookie controls or your browser settings, as easily as you gave it.
Your data-subject rights: subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
To exercise these rights, contact us using Section 17. The data controller is Pinpoint Executive Consulting, LLC, 2695 Patterson Rd, 2-77, Grand Junction, CO 81506, USA.
We do not have an establishment in the UK or EU and, given the limited scale of our processing of UK/EU data, we have not appointed a UK/EU representative or Data Protection Officer. If this changes, we will update this policy.
If you are in Canada, we handle your personal information in a manner consistent with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and, where applicable, substantially similar provincial laws (such as Quebec's Law 25 and the private-sector privacy laws of British Columbia and Alberta). We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, and we obtain consent where required — including for the collection and use of your web-browsing activity through cookies and advertising technologies, which you can decline or withdraw as described in Section 6. You have the right to access and correct your personal information and to withdraw consent for marketing. To make a request or a complaint, contact us using Section 17. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (https://www.priv.gc.ca) or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.
If you are in Israel, we handle personal information in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, as amended (including Amendment 13, in force since 2025) and its regulations. Under that law, personal information includes identifiers such as your IP address and online identifiers. Providing personal information is voluntary, but some information is required to create an account or process a subscription; where information is required, we will make that clear, and we will tell you the purpose of the collection and the parties to whom data may be transferred. You have the right to review the personal information we hold about you and to request that it be corrected or deleted. To do so, contact us using Section 17.
We are based in the United States, and our service providers (our third-party advertising partner, Stripe, ActiveCampaign, Render) may process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Services from the UK, EU, Canada, or Israel, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country. Where required, we and our processors rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers — such as the Standard Contractual Clauses (and, for UK transfers, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) — which our processors incorporate into their terms.
Our Sites may link to third-party websites and services we do not control (for example, news articles, or company websites in our dataset). This policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate or required, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
